Julia Roberts Reflects on Meeting Chloe Sevigny
Julia Roberts recently shared her feelings about meeting fellow actress Chloe Sevigny, describing herself as “scared and threatened.” This revelation came during a group interview with her co-stars from the film “After the Hunt,” including Ayo Edebiri, Andrew Garfield, and director Luca Guadagnino.
Roberts recounted feeling anxious before her first encounter with Sevigny. “I was so excited and threatened to meet Chloe,” she noted, highlighting the nervousness that even seasoned actors can feel.
During the interview, Roberts remembered her daughter Hazel being present when Sevigny arrived at their home for a discussion about the film. “We were all sitting around the kitchen table, and Hazel was having lunch. We were chatting about rehearsals,” she explained. Then, as anticipation built, Roberts expressed her fears: “I’m scared,” to which Edebiri responded, “Me too.”
When Sevilla met Roberts, she soon felt at ease. She mentioned that Roberts had invited them over and made the experience enjoyable. “I needed more Julia,” Sevigny said after filming wrapped, expressing her admiration for Roberts’ work.
Sevigny shared that she watched several of Roberts’ films afterward, including “Notting Hill” and “My Best Friend’s Wedding.” She just wanted more of Roberts’ performances, wishing to experience her talent even further.
Reflecting on the emotional moments during their conversation, Roberts felt touched by what her co-stars were saying. Sevigny expressed a reluctance to say goodbye, yet found comfort in knowing she could revisit Roberts’ extensive filmography anytime.
The film “After the Hunt” features Roberts as a philosophy professor entangled in a complex situation involving her star student. It is set to premiere in theaters on October 10th.
