Julia Stiles didn't mind Harvey Weinstein's request for re-shooting the film she starred in, making her feel “slim” and said the final product was “executed very poorly.”
Stiles talks about the creation of 2000 teen Rom-Com “Down To You,” about the film being buried in the “Brett Goldstein” podcast.
“It was a time when teenager Rom-Coms were really popular,” she explained. “director [Kris Isacsson] I wrote the script. He was his first director and he was a very, very intelligent and capable man. The script was very good. And Harvey Weinstein got it and decided to take advantage of this trend. And it just got stupid. ”
“Down to You” also starred Freddie Prinze Jr., who Stiles said was “lovely, lovely.” [and a] A great actor. ”

According to Styles, Weinstein wanted to make the most of her recent success with other teenage-oriented films that feature her dance.
“They're pouring their money on it in a stupid way,” she said. “So when we went and re-shooted, I was like he [Weinstein] For the success of “Save the Last Dance” or “10 Things I Don't Like About You”, he decided that I need to have me dance in the movie as I'm dancing on the pool table. ”
The “Mona Lisa Smile” actress admitted that she liked dancing on the project and “dancing the entire film”, but she felt it had no meaning to her character.
“I love dancing, but that was ridiculous. It was like, 'OK, let's take her to the pool table.' I didn't even have the imagination,” Stiles said. “And I always did it and felt so slimy. I don't know if it actually made it in a movie, but it was annoying.

He continued, “As a filmmaker, I've always been looking for ways to elevate my projects. When I see an opportunity to make a film better, I take it. That same instinct led David O. Russell and me to cast Julia in the “Silver Lining Playbook.”
“Silver Linings Playbook” was produced by Weinstein Company and released in 2012.
Weinstein is currently scheduled for April 15th in court for a retrial of the rape conviction that was overturned in 2020.

Weinstein forced oral sex in 2006 with a film and television production assistant, and in 2013 he raped an aspiring actor. He claims he forced another woman to have oral sex in a Manhattan hotel in 2006.
