“What I like is that I don’t have to come to church or sit in front of a cross to pray,” Chen Moonves said Monday on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
“Before she knew God, Julie Chen was self-absorbed, career-oriented, vain, gossipy, and fun to be around, but she was probably shallow.” she continued. “Julie Chen Moonves, who now knows her Lord, is a person who wants to help others, and she is a person who wants to see everyone with a kind heart.”

Chen Moonves, who appeared on the morning show to promote her new audio memoir “But First, God,” appeared on the midday show in 2018, days after her husband resigned as CEO of CBS amid sexual misconduct allegations. I left Gabfest. The powerful Moonves family resigned after at least 12 women accused them of sexual misconduct in two New Yorker articles written by Pulitzer Prize winner Ronan Farrow. She said it was not her decision to leave her show.
“Yeah, I never revealed that until ‘But First, God.’ It was a tough time. It felt like I was stabbed in the back,” Chen Moonves said. “That’s right.”

Chen Moonves publicly supported her husband, who denies the allegations, saying in 2018: “Leslie is a good person, a loving father, and a devoted husband. An inspirational corporate leader. He has always been a kind, polite and moral human being. I am fully human.” Support your husband and stand behind him. ”
She also mentioned supporting her husband in his exit from the show.
“I’ve been a part of ‘The Talk’ since the day it started nine years ago, and the cast, crew, and crew have become family to me over the years. But now, I’m at home with my husband and I. “Because I have a young son, I have decided to leave ‘The Talk,”’ Chen Moonves told viewers in a pre-recorded announcement.
In a conversation with “GMA” on Monday, Chen Moonves said “of course” she asked her husband if the allegations were true.
“I know my husband, you know,” she said, adding that she credits God with helping her reconcile with those who weren’t there for her.
“If God wasn’t in my life, I don’t know if I would have been able to reconcile,” Chen Moonves said.

Chen Moonves said she hopes her memoir will help others find God.
“First and foremost God,” she said. “Since I started doing it, I’ve found peace, but most of all, I’ve found hope.”
