‘Just Three People Who Understand There’s Only Two Genders’

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) and Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) were strolling through the halls of Congress Thursday when they spotted a familiar face. So familiar, in fact, that comedian Dave Chappelle was happy to stop and have his supporters in Congress take selfies.

“Only 3 people understand that there are only two genders,” Boebert wrote on X, along with a photo of her and Luna. chappelle’s show A star decorated in the rotunda of the Capitol.

Luna also quickly tweeted, “I ran into @DaveChappelle,” sharing the same photo as Boebert.

“Thank you for all your hard work,” the Florida Republican told the comedian during a friendly meeting.

Rep. Byron Donald (R-Florida) also greeted Chappelle and was filmed exchanging jokes with the visiting comedian.

He was reportedly at the Capitol for a meeting with the Congressional Black Caucus. According to Punch Bowl News.

Chappelle, a native of Washington, D.C., offered a different explanation for the surprise appearance in response to questions from reporters.

“Many of the people I grew up with work on the Hill, so when I’m in Washington, D.C., I sometimes spend time here to catch up with old friends.” He said.

The stand-up comic also met with Rep. Stacey Plaskett (D-Virgin Islands) upon arriving at the Capitol.

This was announced by the comedian’s representative. washington examiner Mr. Chappelle did not conduct any business or attend any meetings while at the Capitol.

Instead, he was in town for Sunday’s Kennedy Center Honors ceremony and an “Art is Activism” workshop at a local public high school.
