Justice Department Instructs Prosecutors to Prepare Investigations into George Soros's Foundation

DOJ Directs Firms to Investigate Soros-Funded Group

Reports indicate that over 60 law firms across the U.S. have been instructed by senior officials from the Justice Department to look into a group backed by George Soros.

The group in question is the Open Society Foundation (OSF).

Since its founding in 1993, OSF has been closely associated with Soros, a businessman originally from Hungary. His activities and those of his son, Alexander, have kept him in the news in both Europe and the U.S.

A report from the New York Times mentions that the officials reportedly provided details on potential accusations that prosecutors might levy against left-leaning donors, including charges ranging from arson to providing material support for terrorist acts.

According to ABC News, some specific directives within the order include:

The communication from Aekash Singh, a senior figure in Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche’s office, reached U.S. law firms in at least seven states, including California, New York, Illinois, Michigan, and Maryland. Sources confirmed that the letter specifies various suspects under consideration for investigation, with possible charges including terrorism support, arson, wire fraud, and assault.

A spokesman for the Justice Department commented to ABC News, saying, “This DOJ, in cooperation with our dedicated U.S. attorneys, will always prioritize public safety and will investigate organizations that conspire to commit violence or violate federal laws.”

An OSF spokesperson responded by stating, “The Open Society Foundation condemns terrorism and does not finance it. Our efforts are peaceful and legal, and we expect our grantees to adhere to the law and human rights standards.”

Following this, the OSF claimed that these allegations are politically driven attacks on civil society, intended to silence dissent.

Their statement emphasized, “When power is misused to strip rights from some, it endangers the rights of everyone.” Additionally, OSF has been noted to have strong ties with the White House and various governmental entities under the previous Biden administration.

Finally, OSF is said to have invested millions in initiatives aimed at mass immigration, aiding undocumented individuals in the U.S., and supporting efforts to legalize prostitution.
