Justin Fields taken off the field amid serious concerns for the Jets' injuries

During practice with the Jets on Thursday, Justin Fields had to be carried off the field. He threw an incomplete pass, then collapsed, quickly getting up to the sidelines with assistance from a trainer.

On the sideline, he removed his shoes and examined his legs, spending around ten minutes with the trainer.

Quarterback Tyrod Taylor stepped in to take the first rep following Fields’ departure.

There was some visible tension between Jets general manager Darren Moosy and the team doctor as Fields, visibly struggling, made his way to the locker room.

Fields has taken over for Aaron Rodgers, signing a two-year, $40 million contract. Interestingly, both quarterbacks will be facing their former teams in the upcoming Jets-Steelers game.

He had already missed some practice time to adapt to a new offensive system under defensive coordinator Caratanner Engstrand, trying to showcase his dual-threat capabilities.

Fields was hurt on the initial play of the second 11-on-11 series, appearing to struggle with weight on his right leg. After that, the team switched focus to special teams.

Instead of stretching or leaning back, Fields was seen sitting beside the cart. Besides Taylor, the Jets’ quarterback lineup includes Adrian Martinez and Brady Cook, both of whom joined as undrafted free agents this year.

This is a developing story. Please check for updates.
