The writing was on the wall for a while, but now Justin Fields is reportedly on the move.
The Chicago Bears, who own the No. 1 pick, are said to be sending Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The reported deal comes just days after they already signed nine-time Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson to a one-year deal.

Fields was expected to be on the move soon after the Bears acquired the top pick in the NFL Draft. The Bears acquired the pick from the Carolina Panthers in a trade last year, but the Panthers moved up to the top spot to select Bryce Young last year.
However, it became clear that options were limited as several teams, including the Steelers, selected new quarterbacks through free agency.
Not that the Steelers were never considered, but it makes sense why.
Reports say Wilson will start and Fields will support him.

The Bears are reportedly slated to acquire a 2025 sixth-round pick, which could become a fourth-round pick if Fields plays in 51% of his games this season, but for now, that’s Pittsburgh’s pick. Apparently not in the plan.
Fields was selected No. 11 overall in 2021 after the Bears traded up from the No. 20 pick.
Chicago is now almost certain to acquire USC quarterback Caleb Williams. The Bears also have the ninth pick in the NFL Draft.
Wilson recently expressed a desire to continue playing for a Super Bowl ring following the disaster in Denver. He was benched at the end of the 2023 regular season amid controversy over his contractual injury coverage.
Meanwhile, Fields showed glimpses of his crazy talent, becoming one of just three quarterbacks in NFL history to rush for 1,000 yards in 2022, joining Michael Vick and Lamar Jackson. However, his record as a starter only puts him at 10-28.

Fields is under team control until 2027. He is currently in his fourth year in the NFL, and the Steelers can pick up his fifth-year option and give him the franchise tag twice.
The Steelers traded away Kenny Pickett earlier this week as Pickett wanted a new opportunity following the Wilson deal. Pickett will now back up Jalen Hurts in Philadelphia.
