On Sunday, Justin Rose was having a rather forgettable final round at the Tour Championship. But, just like that, everything changed with one incredible swing on the par 3 ninth hole.
When he stepped up to the tee at 2-over par for the day, he was already out of contention in the PGA Tour’s season finale. Grabbing a six-iron, Rose took his shot—208 yards over water, which isn’t exactly the easiest place to find your groove again. Yet, somehow, it didn’t faze him.
His swing was spot on, and moments later, he watched in amazement as his ball disappeared right into the cup.
You know, every ace has its uniqueness, but few can compare to a hole-in-one that sails straight into the hole without touching the ground first.
Celebrating the incredible moment, Rose raised his arms in triumph and then pointed down to mimic the action of his ball going in—it’s just what anyone would do in that moment of excitement.
Sadly for him, he followed up that remarkable ace with a bogey on the Par 4 tenth, but hey, that hole-in-one? That’s definitely a moment he’ll cherish for years to come.
Interestingly enough, just moments before Rose’s ace, World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler nearly joined in on the hole-in-one festivities, landing his ball just inches from the hole on the Par 3 second.
Rose, a former FedEx Cup winner back in 2018, also secured his 13th PGA Tour victory earlier this year at the Farmers Insurance Open—he didn’t just win; he dominated, leading by an impressive seven shots.
At 46 years old, he’s likely eager to enhance his career further in the upcoming 2027 season, not to mention aiming for a spot on the European Ryder Cup team for what would be his eighth time at the event, set to take place in Ireland next fall.
