Kacey Montoya has made her return to broadcasting, reappearing on FOX 11 just a few months after being laid off from KTLA during corporate cutbacks.
She took to the screen again on Thursday evening, marking her first time back in front of the camera in six months.
In an engaging Instagram Reel, she shared glimpses from the studio, showing herself prepping weather forecasts and rehearsing for an upcoming segment.
“This is the first time I’ve been on air in six months since we worked at the other place,” she mentioned in a post, confirming her comeback.
Montoya also gave viewers an early look at the weather for Halloween in Southern California, sharing her thoughts on whether rain could disrupt the festivities.
The news elicited positive reactions from colleagues, with KTLA’s Vera Jimenez expressing excitement, stating, “Yay! So glad you’re back on!” Meanwhile, FOX 11’s Brooke Thomas shared her eagerness to co-anchor with Montoya, saying, “Yay can’t wait for our first newscast together!”
Montoya’s exit from KTLA was part of broader layoffs in April, not an individual termination. After leaving, she focused on her nonprofit organization, Fix’n Fidos, which aims to provide spaying and neutering services throughout Southern California.
