Kai Trump Makes LPGA Tour Debut

Kai Trump, the granddaughter of former President Donald Trump, made her debut on the LPGA Tour on Thursday at The Annika tournament in Bellaire, Florida.

The 18-year-old ended the first round with a score of 13-over 83, placing her at the bottom of a field of 108 players.

She had a rough start, bogeying the first four holes and finishing without any birdies, accumulating nine bogeys and two double bogeys along the way.

Feeling nervous, she said, “I was a lot more nervous than I expected, but I thought I hit a lot of great shots. I hit a lot of good shots in the wrong places.”

Even with her last-place finish, Kai described the whole experience as “pretty cool.” She added, “I know I hit it far, and I was able to keep up with some of the best players out there, which felt pretty good.” As a high school senior, she feels her game is progressing well.

Tiger Woods, who is dating Kai’s mother, Vanessa, shared that he offered her some tips ahead of the tournament. “I mean, he’s the best golfer in the world, and an even better person,” she commented. “He told me to go out and have fun and go with the flow. Whatever happens, happens.”

Kai has been gaining popularity on social media, notably through YouTube, where she recently shared a video of playing golf with her grandfather at Trump National Golf Club in Washington, D.C., which included attending the Ryder Cup together.

In a recent interview, Kai reflected on her relationship with her grandfather, stating, “I don’t think of him as the president. I think of him as my grandfather. We play golf all the time. It’s nothing new.”

With aspirations of becoming a professional golfer, she emphasized her commitment: “I want to go for it and do my best.”
