Kai Trump, President Donald Trump's oldest grandchild, gave a behind-the-scenes look at the historic inaugural celebrations that capped a “once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
“Today my grandfather becomes President of the United States again. Let's go!” Kai Trump said in a video Posted on YouTube.
Kai Trump's video blog started with his morning coffee, followed by footage of his family entering St. John's Episcopal Church for a prayer service on Sunday and a motorcade heading to the Capitol.
Her father, Donald Jr., crashed a video blog to reveal his last-minute decision to pull his eldest daughter onto the stage at Capital One Arena to say a few words during Sunday's victory rally.
“She absolutely nailed it, as always,” he said, kissing her forehead.
The father-daughter duo said they are looking forward to the inaugural ball where they will dance together.
Trump Jr. joked, “There's going to be two people with two left feet, so it's going to be interesting.” “Kai is going to show off his breakdancing moves, so it's going to be great.”
Kai Trump, who has been documenting his grandfather's campaign as well as his own, said he was unable to record the official swearing-in ceremony but showed viewers a clip.
An avid golfer, she sat a few rows behind former President Joe Biden, with a clear view down the aisle where her grandfather took the oath of office.
The 47th president gave a shout-out to Kai during the inaugural parade inside Capital One Arena, praising his youngest son Barron for winning the “youth vote” during the presidential campaign.
“What about another celebrity, Kai? Stand up, Kai,'' the President said.
Footage showed Kai, who was seated two rows behind his grandfather, waving to the crowd as he received a standing ovation from the packed arena.
She then revealed that she had only visited the White House 20 times, as she went to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue before the final event of the night.
She said she often played hide-and-seek with Barron and her brother when they visited the White House during her grandfather's first term.
“Me, Baron and Donnie were playing soccer on the front lawn and everyone was watching and it was really funny,” she said.
After entering the White House, Kai Trump, wearing a silver Sherri Hill dress with sequined diamonds, posed for photos with her father, brother, sister and friends in the mural room.
“We're in the White House right now, which is pretty legendary,” she admitted.
Kai Trump pointed out different rooms in different colors, including a green room, a yellow room, and a red room, calling it her favorite.
While in the Red Room, Trump and Don Jr. used their free time to practice dancing for their appearances at the Liberty Ball and Starlight Ball.
When Kai Trump heard about the large crowd at the sold-out ball, he began to panic.
“Oh, it's so loud up there. You're dancing in front of so many people,” she said. “At this point, I’d rather sing.”
Kai Trump and his father, along with the rest of his family, Vice President J.D. Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance, slow danced to the Righteous Brothers' “Unchained Melody” at the Liberty Ball. Ta.
At the Starlight Ball, Trump and his father danced to Frank Sinatra's “My Way.”
After the dance, Kai and his grandfather smiled and posed for photos.
She said she was “lost” and joked that her brother Donald Trump III was a “terrible dancer.”
The video blog was cut to show an exhausted Kai Trump returning to his hotel around 1 a.m., reflecting on “historic” moments with his family.
“Today was such an amazing day and honestly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It's so historic and I'm so glad I was able to be there with my family today and really appreciate this moment. I’m enjoying it,” she said.
“I’m looking forward to the future, so let’s keep going.”
