Kai Trump to Play College Golf at the University of Miami
In August 2024, Kite Trump, President Donald Trump’s granddaughter, shared that she has verbally committed to joining the University of Miami’s golf team. She plans to start her college career in 2026, pursuing a passion she’s held since picking up a golf club at just two years old.
While Trump engages with millions on social media and creates content, her main ambition is clear: she wants to become a professional golfer. “That’s 100% my goal,” she mentioned, highlighting her commitment to both golf and her growing online presence.
“I have another year of high school before I head to Miami to start helping the Hurricanes,” she noted. Preparation is key, and she seems to have a solid plan. “I’ll play in as many events as I can to gain experience,” she said, adding, “If I have a couple of hours to practice, I’m not going to waste time. I’ll put in what I need to on the course.” She reflects on how this dedication will elevate her game, not just through gym workouts but also by playing more rounds.
Choosing Miami, she feels that it will be instrumental in achieving her ultimate goal of competing on the professional tour. “As I play more, I get better,” she said, clearly excited about the opportunities ahead.
Balancing life as a student-athlete with her other interests doesn’t escape her attention either. Golf, however, remains her top priority. “When I’m on the course, there’s a competitive spirit I feel you can’t really teach,” she admitted, laughing a little. “Maybe it’s in the family genes.” It’s clear that her competitive nature, shaped by family dynamics, is a driving force.
As she focuses on realizing her dreams in professional golf, she appreciates her status as a college athlete, which enables her to leverage her personal brand. She’s already attracted a good following due to her passion for content creation.
Kai also announced a partnership with Accelerator Active Energy, marking her as the brand’s first Golf NIL partner. This partnership is particularly noteworthy, as Accelerator is known for initiatives supporting women’s college athletics.
Reflecting on her new role, she expressed enthusiasm for working alongside other esteemed athletes, emphasizing how it’s a unique opportunity. “It’s pretty cool to be with such great partners,” she said, radiating excitement for what lies ahead.
