The premiere of “The Shahs” drew significant attention on the red carpet.
Kaia Gerber, 24, turned heads as she resembled her mother, Cindy Crawford, in a dazzling Valentino column dress adorned with beads and crystals. It featured delicate spaghetti straps and, rather than a necklace, she opted for stunning diamond studs and a chunky clear cocktail ring.
Her look mirrored the classic 90s vibe that her mother was known for, showcasing bronzed skin, brown smokey eyes, and glossy nude lips.
Accompanying her was Homer Gere, 26, the offspring of Crawford’s former husband, Richard Gere. This pairing added another layer of nostalgia to the evening. Crawford and Gere were married from 1991 to 1995, a union that concluded six years prior to Gerber’s birth.
Interestingly, Kaia’s outfit seemed to pay homage to a memorable moment from the past when Crawford wore a white Hervé Leger dress at the 1993 Oscars—something Gerber echoed at the 2024 TIFF premiere.
Crawford once attributed the end of her marriage to the age gap between her and Gere, revealing during an interview with Oprah that she was still discovering herself at just 22.
At the SVA Theater, the 60-year-old supermodel was seen supporting the cast before later celebrating in a chic blue silk midi dress at a gathering at El Quijote in Chelsea.
After the red carpet, Gerber switched to a body-hugging Norma Kamali dress featuring see-through straps for the after-party, which created a striking silhouette with its low backrest.
Gerber expressed her excitement about her co-star Homer, whom she had not met prior to filming. She praised his talent, stating, “He’s such a great actor. I mean, oh my god, this was the second thing he’s ever done. He has confidence and charisma. He’s very attractive to watch… He’s also a really great guy.”
In “The Shahs,” set in 1981, she portrays Susan Reynolds while Homer takes on the role of Robert Mallory, a new student shrouded in mystery. The series is set to launch on August 5th on FX and Hulu.
