This happened after Joe Biden became president. Announced Trump announced in a post on X on Sunday that he was dropping out of the presidential race, saying it was in the “best interest” of the Democratic Party for him to step down and focus on “fulfilling” his duties as president.
In another post, Biden said: To support He nominated Harris as the party’s presidential candidate.
Several Democrats, including Representative Nancy Pelosi (California), former President Bill Clinton and his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Senator Elizabeth Warren (Massachusetts), Governors Josh Shapiro (Pennsylvania), Wes Moore (Maryland), Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (New York) and Jamaal Bowman (New York), have issued statements endorsing Harris as the party’s presidential nominee since Biden dropped out of the race.
