Kamala Harris Critiques Trump Administration Over Show Cancellation
Former Vice President Kamala Harris criticized the Trump administration on Thursday regarding the cancellation of Jimmy Kimmel’s show. Interestingly, back in 2019, she had called for Twitter to ban President Donald Trump.
In a post on X, she shared her thoughts about the situation:
Byron York highlighted this in the Washington Examiner, pointing out her previous calls for Twitter (now X) to take action against presidential accounts.
According to a report from CNN at that time:
Harris expressed concerns about Trump’s claims regarding Ukrainian leaders, stating he used his account to “target, harass, and intimidate whistleblowers,” which could lead to investigations.
She added comments suggesting that Trump’s tweets could incite violence, particularly mentioning that if Democrats succeeded in removing him, it might lead to a civil unrest akin to a civil war.
Twitter’s stance has been to maintain tweets from world leaders unless they pose a specific danger, preferring to instead add disclaimers.
After Kimmel made a controversial remark suggesting Charlie Kirk may have been harmed by Trump supporters, Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Kerr cautioned that broadcast licenses could face scrutiny under existing regulations that demand public interest usage.
