Kamala Harris Delivered One of the Shortest Acceptance Speeches in History

Vice President Kamala Harris delivered one of the shortest acceptance speeches in history, but it paled in comparison to former President Donald Trump, who delivered the longest acceptance speech in history after surviving an assassination attempt last month.

Harris began her speech by talking about her childhood and past work, conveniently leaving out key details like the truth about where she grew up and her actual history of failing to prosecute sexual abuse cases within the Catholic Church, before quickly launching into an attack on Trump without mentioning any of her policies.

The speech ended up clocking in at 38 minutes, making it the 12th shortest in modern history. According to NPR.

In comparison, Trump’s acceptance speech in July lasted an astounding 92 minutes – more than double Harris’s – in which he spoke about the assassination attempt from his own perspective and also discussed actual policies.

The same can’t be said for Harris, who spent much of her speech misrepresenting her opponent’s actual positions.

“In many ways Donald Trump is a dishonest man. But the consequences of putting Donald Trump back in the White House would be extremely serious,” she said, urging listeners to “consider not just the chaos and disaster of his presidency, but also the gravity of what has happened since he lost the last election.”

She again brought up the allegations of January 6th, accusing President Trump of “sending an armed mob into the United States Capitol where they attacked police officers,” which is completely false.

As reported by Breitbart News, Harris argued:

“He added fuel to the fire, this time for an entirely different set of crimes, he was convicted of fraud by a jury of ordinary Americans and separately convicted of sexual abuse. And just think what he’s going to do if we give him power again,” she said, asserting that Trump would “release the violent extremists who attacked police officers at the Capitol.” She also claimed that Trump “has the intent to jail journalists, political opponents and anyone he sees as an enemy.”

She did not mention that leftists have actually been trying to do something similar against Trump through legal warfare since he left office and decided to run for office again.

Harris also, without providing any context for her claim, asked the audience to consider President Trump’s “clear intent to deploy active duty troops against his own people.”

“Imagine this: Donald Trump, with no guardrails, would use the enormous power of being president of the United States not to improve your lives, not to strengthen our national security, but to serve the only client he’s ever had: himself,” Harris said, also blasting Trump for bringing the abortion issue to the states.

During her speech, Harris attempted to cast Trump as a would-be dictator, claiming that dictators around the world are rooting for him because they know he won’t be held accountable because he’s a “wanna-be dictator himself.”

The speech came at a time when viewers were hoping for a surprise appearance from a big superstar like Beyonce or Taylor Swift, but when that didn’t happen, it sparked outrage as the Democratic National Committee appeared to have peddled the rumor in hopes of boosting ratings for the event.
