Kamala Harris Dooms Down-Ballot Democrats

A document from the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) argues that Kamala Harris’s ascension to the Democratic presidential nomination would spell disaster for lower-ranking Democratic candidates because of her “extreme policies” and poor campaigning skills.

NRSC Executive Director Jason Seelman wrote a memo Monday detailing how Harris becoming the Democratic presidential nominee creates a “strong opportunity for a lower-tier candidate” for Republicans.

“While the case against Joe Biden rested in part on the fact that he was mentally unfit to hold public office, this was harder to apply to a lesser candidate. Kamala Harris is carrying the weight of a Biden administration and is a self-described extremist,” Thielman explained in the memo obtained by Breitbart News. “To support Kamala Harris is to support her radical policies, and it could be argued that Harris is a greater threat to the Democratic Senate majority than Joe Biden.”

Harris isn’t doing well in the polls and supports extreme policies, Thielman wrote.

Former President Donald Trump leads Harris by nearly 2 percentage points nationally, and Harris has a negative approval rating of -15% among U.S. voters, making her likely less popular than President Joe Biden in every “swing state.”

The nonpartisan GovTrack said Harris Ranking She is the most left-wing senator in the country, and progressives within the Squad were quick to endorse her.

Harris also has some radical policy ideas, according to Thielman, including:

  • Harris has pledged to decriminalize border crossing and supports abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
  • Harris has pledged to abolish the filibuster to pass the Green New Deal.
  • Harris supported a bail fund that has released “convicted criminals who have subsequently murdered people.”
  • Harris has pledged to preserve private health insurance but enact Medicare for All.
  • Governor Harris supports confiscation of firearms through a mandatory buyback program.

“Candidates should not be shy about aggressively aligning their opponents with Kamala Harris’ radical policies. Kamala Harris is not a good candidate,” Thielman concluded in the NRSC memo. “When she first ran for president, she dropped out of the race in Iowa and was trailing Andrew Yang in the polls.”
