Kamala Harris Hints at 2024 Presidential Run
Former Vice President Kamala Harris has suggested that she may run for president again in 2024, despite facing significant challenges and unpopularity after her previous campaign.
In a recent interview, she seemed to indicate that her political career is far from over. She stated, “It’s not over yet. I’ve lived a life of service throughout my career, and it’s in my bones. There are many ways to serve.” Even after her defeat in the November election, Harris expressed her determination, saying, “I haven’t decided what I’ll do in the future other than what I’m doing now.”
When discussing her aspirations, the interviewer pointed out her current low standing in popularity. Laura Kuenssberg from the BBC candidly highlighted this, referencing her status next to celebrities like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, indicating a perception of her as an outsider in the political landscape.
“I think there are all kinds of polls out there that tell you different things,” Harris replied, defending her decision to run for office despite negative polling. “If I had listened to the polls, I wouldn’t have run for office in the first place.”
It’s worth noting that Trump’s recent losses in battleground states showcased his stark rejection by voters, which raises questions about Harris’s optimism. Critics argue that her hopes for a comeback may be an exercise in self-deception. Piers Morgan remarked on her perception, calling her “a whining, paranoid, angry, bitter woman” who may not have a chance at another run.
While Harris is contemplating her options, she acknowledges that competition could be tough. California Governor Gavin Newsom has also hinted at his interest in running for president, indicating that he wouldn’t be lying if he said he might consider it.
“Who the hell knows?” Newsom said about potential candidates for 2028, suggesting that it’s still too early to make predictions. When asked if he would look into a run post-2026 midterms, he confirmed that this was indeed a possibility, stating, “Yes, if you don’t, you’re lying.”
