Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) said Monday on MSNBC’s “The Lead Out” that Vice President Kamala Harris is “smarter” than former President Donald Trump.
“We’ve watched the right go after Vice President Harris. They’ve gone after her laughs. They’ve gone after her past, who she’s dated in the past. They’ve tried everything,” host Joy Reid said.
“They’re going to try anything and it’s going to be tough. They’re going to denounce her, they’re going to call her names, they’re going to do everything. But she’s not going to be intimidated. She’s smart, she’s tough. She knows how everything works now. She’s worked in the White House, she’s been vice president of the United States, she’s smarter than Trump. So if they come after her, she’s going to get him,” Waters said.
She added, “She had a great career. She rose to the position of vice president. It was all because she was strong and believed in herself. It never occurred to her that she would fail. That courage is what defines her. She did almost all the right things in her climb up the ladder. She was well trained and she did everything she was taught. She should be understood as a woman on a mission. She excelled and she succeeded.”
