According to the report, Vice President Kamala Harris played a “key” role in implementing President Joe Biden’s presidential amnesty of more than 500,000 illegal immigrants this year.
Biden announced a presidential pardon in June to allow at least 550,000 illegal immigrant spouses of U.S. citizens and their children to obtain green cards and ultimately become U.S. citizens.
Similarly, the amnesty would allow illegal immigrants who graduate from American universities to be given work visas.
According to Reuters, Harris Played Key roles in implementing the amnesty:
Harris played a key role in helping the Biden administration put into place a program in June that offers a path to citizenship for immigrants living in the U.S. illegally. They are married to U.S. citizens, according to two people familiar with the matter. [Emphasis added]
To carry out the pardons, Biden and Harris have asked DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to use a little-known parole system that Republicans and critics say the administration is misusing to create a broad capture-and-release network.
The Reuters report appears to refute claims by Harris and mainstream media that she is lagging behind the Biden administration’s immigration policies.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) said this week that she would endorse Harris for president, hoping that her administration would grant amnesty to most of the country’s 11 to 22 million illegal immigrants.
“I believe we need to create a pathway to citizenship,” Warren said. “All of these things are part of what we need to do for comprehensive immigration reform, and Kamala Harris will work with Congress to get it done.”
