Kamala Harris Refuses Fox News Sept. 4 Debate with Donald Trump in PA

Vice President Kamala Harris on Saturday refused to debate former President Donald Trump on Fox News on Sept. 4, instead demanding the debate take place on ABC News on Sept. 10.

While political insiders view ABC News as an ally of the Democratic Party, Fox News has generally not been pro-Trump, especially since former House Speaker Paul Ryan joined the Fox Corporation board of directors.

“Donald Trump is scared and is trying to run away from the debate he already agreed to and is asking Fox News for help. Trump needs to stop playing ball and show up to the debate he already committed to on September 10th,” said Michael Tyler, communications director for the Harris campaign. Said Newsweek.

“The vice president will be there anyway for a chance to speak to a national audience in prime time, and is happy to discuss further debates after the one the sides have already agreed to. Mr. Anytime, Anywhere, Anywhere should be fine with that, unless he’s too scared to show up on the 10th,” he added.

Trump said late Friday that he had agreed to debate Harris on Fox News on Sept. 4. “This debate was previously scheduled with Sleepy Joe Biden on ABC but was canceled when Biden was no longer participating,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

“The Fox News debate will be in Pennsylvania at a location to be determined,” he continued. “The debate will be hosted by Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum and the rules will be similar to those for the Sleepy Joe debate, which was badly treated by the party, but in a sold-out arena!”

President Joe Biden and President Trump had previously agreed to hold a debate on September 10, but after President Biden dropped out of the race, President Trump’s campaign communications director, Steven Thune, Said The event was cancelled on July 25th.

“[It] “There’s a good chance Democrats will change their mind, so it would be inappropriate to schedule an event with Ms. Harris,” he said at the time.
