With former President Donald Trump gaining momentum in Democratic states, Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign is on the defensive, failing to deliver the post-convention surge that most recent campaigns have taken for granted.
The campaign plans to send Harris and her key surrogates, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and her husband, Doug Emhoff, to Democratic states after a planned visit to battleground states over the weekend.
On Wednesday, Harris reportedly visit In New Hampshire, Harris held just a 4-point lead in a pre-convention poll from Emerson College/WHDH, but Walz will be campaigning in his home state of Minnesota, where Trump has cut Harris' lead from 10 points to just 5 points since Walz entered the race, according to two KTSP/SurveyUSA polls. In another sign that the campaign is faltering, it reportedly plans to send Biden on a campaign tour.
An ABC News/Ipsos poll conducted Sunday found that Harris' “overall support did not increase” after she formally accepted the party's nomination at the Democratic National Convention.
