Kamala Harris Returns to Fundraising After Spending Over $1 Billion in 100 Days on Unsuccessful 2024 Campaign

Kamala Harris Returns to Fundraising After 2024 Campaign

Former presidential candidate Kamala Harris is back on the fundraising circuit following an expensive four months of her 2024 campaign, as reported by The New York Times. She is set to speak at a fundraiser for the San Francisco National Committee on Democrats on June 3rd, after a staggering expenditure of over $1 billion during her campaign—money that was spent in just over 100 days.

Despite not defeating President Donald Trump, her campaign lavished funds on promotions, including high-profile podcasts and star-studded events. Recently, Harris has increased her public appearances amid speculation about her future political aspirations, potentially eyeing a run for California governor in 2026.

During the campaign, Harris set fundraising records, amassing an impressive $1 billion in just one quarter. However, even with this large financial backing, she lost approximately 2 million votes and failed to win in any of the pivotal swing states on election day.

Some of her campaign’s expenses were quite notable: there was a $100,000 bill for creating a replica of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast setup, along with a $3.9 million investment to hire 5,000 social media influencers to promote her campaign online. Additionally, the campaign allocated $1 million to Oprah Winfrey’s production company. It’s worth mentioning that her team also spent heavily on private jet charters during the campaign.

Despite the electoral defeat, Harris’s campaign aimed to raise additional funds for the Democratic party to bolster congressional races. Reports also suggest that she may be looking to establish her own think tank in collaboration with prominent universities, along with signing with Creative Artists Agency to amplify her platform and support various issues relevant to her public service career.

As of now, Harris’s office has not provided any comments in response to requests for information.
