Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Vice President Kamala Harris’s pick as her running mate, has supported efforts to phase out fossil fuels and has been just as radical as Harris, who first voiced strong support for the Green New Deal.
Walz is no different to other climate change extremists who are following in Harris’s footsteps in California. Star Tribune highlight Governor Walz’s position at the time was that the state would adopt “tougher emissions standards for cars, trucks and SUVs.”
The media reported:
Minnesota will implement stricter emissions standards for cars, trucks and SUVs, aligning with California in the fight against the Trump administration over energy conservation and air pollution.
“It makes sense,” Walz said at the time. “It will save money on gas, give us more choices, reduce Minnesotans’ carbon footprint and improve our health.”

In 2021, Minnesota, under the leadership of Governor Walz, will become the first state in the Midwest to seek to implement a plan to push electric vehicles (EVs) onto consumers through “clean car” regulations. Perhaps most telling is the fact that these so-called regulations are based on the far-left model of California.
Waltz also Fired Critics At the time, he sarcastically said, “In the other 14 states, [that adopted such rules]the sky did not fall.”
WATCH — CNBC’s Ross Sorkin: Waltz’s selection as VP shows Harris will govern from a “progressive left position”:
“The auto industry is not collapsing,” added Waltz, who used executive authority to implement the regulations.
In addition, in 2023, Waltz Signed A law that requires power companies to transition to completely zero-carbon energy by 2040.
This seems in line with Harris, a California radical who has openly advocated for prioritizing the left’s misguided “environmental” policies over their impact on the economy and the American people — in fact, Harris was a proud co-sponsor of Rep. Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.)’s Green New Deal in 2019.
I’m honored to be a co-sponsor. @AOC and Ed MarkeyA Green New Deal. We must aggressively address climate change, which poses an existential threat to our nation.

A memo providing further background on the bill attracted considerable attention due to the absurdity of some of its contents and aims, one of which was that it would provide economic security to people who “don’t want” to work.
Breitbart News reported:
The bill itself did not include that language, Depending on the points distributed at that timeBuilding on the original New Deal, the left hoped to guarantee a range of free things, including “jobs with a family-sustaining wage, family and sick leave, vacation time, and retirement security,” “a quality education, including higher education and vocational schools,” and, perhaps most bizarrely, “financial security for all who cannot or do not support themselves financially.” Unwilling work [emphasis added].
The memo argued that the Green New Deal has momentum and enjoys the support of 92 percent of Democrats, and touted Harris as one of its staunch supporters.
These efforts conceal the reality of what lawmakers on the left want: The Green New Deal largely exposes their actual policies, which are little more than a far-left socialist wish list that lawmakers hope will “combat systemic injustice.”
It is worth noting that the Green New Deal that Harris enthusiastically supported also called for a “complete transition away from fossil fuels and zero greenhouse gas emissions,” a point that Walz would likely agree with, given his track record.
The memo goes on to say that the goal is to reach net-zero emissions rather than zero within 10 years because “it is unclear whether we can completely eliminate farting cows or airplanes that quickly.”
