Kamala Harris Was Clearly a ‘DEI Hire’

Catholic League President Bill Donahue noted Thursday that Kamala Harris was nominated to be President Joe Biden’s vice president because she is a Black woman, which fits the very definition of a DEI hire.

Dr. Donohue earned his PhD in sociology from New York University. Note It is disingenuous to claim that Harris was nominated for the post on merit, when Joe Biden himself “excluded 94 percent of the population” by limiting his nominees to African-American women.

He also points out the contradiction between left-wing journalists like MSNBC commentator Joy Reid who say “DEI is actually a good thing” and then say it’s racist to say Harris was hired because of DEI.

If DEI is a good thing, why is it insulting to point out that it is being used?

Donahue points out that DEI (formerly known as affirmative action) not only helped propel Harris to the White House, it also made her a key player in her legal career.

Donohue wrote that Harris failed the bar exam on her first try, yet more than 72 percent of those who took the same exam passed.

“Even though she failed the exam, she was hired as an assistant district attorney for Alameda County,” he added. “How many white people who fail the bar exam get hired for a job like that?”

The left will have to decide whether DEI is a good thing that should be celebrated, or a racist thing that should be condemned. You can’t have both at the same time.

If the latter, Harris shouldn’t be in the White House.

And Ketanji Brown Jackson (famously unable to define what it means to be a woman) is unfit for the Supreme Court.
