Vice President Kamala Harris' stepdaughter Ella Emhoff has hit back at claims that she suffered a “mental breakdown” after President-elect Donald Trump's victory on Tuesday night.

Following Harris' concession at Howard University in Washington, D.C., Emhoff posted one of the emotional photos of her with the caption, “I really have nothing to say. We're all going to get through this.” It hurts like shit right now, but it’s okay.”
She denied having a mental breakdown in an Instagram Story on Saturday, calling it a “rumour.”
“There are rumors that I went insane and was admitted to the hospital. It's not true,” she wrote alongside a photo of herself.
“Also, if you're spreading it here, you're fucked. There's nothing wrong with showing emotion and crying,” she continued. “Anyone who says yes probably needs to be shouted at.”
Emhoff added that despite having “struggled with mental health all my life,” she is not “ashamed” of it.
Her mother, Kirstin Emhoff, ex-wife of Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, also denied the reports surrounding her daughter on social media.
“More MAGA BS against my family. Leave my kids alone!!! Ella is doing great and having a lovely day with her mom.
