Kamala Sparks 2028 Rumors with Upcoming Visits to Key States

Kamala Harris Targets Swing States Ahead of 2028

Former presidential candidate Kamala Harris is reportedly visiting important swing states like Wisconsin and Georgia, among others in the early lineup for the 2028 Democratic primary.

As election day approaches, Harris is adding more locations to her campaign trail. Notably, her expanded stops now include states such as Nevada, Mississippi, New Hampshire, Wisconsin, and Georgia. Two of these states, Nevada and New Hampshire, will participate in early voting for the 2028 Democratic primary.

The Associated Press reported that Harris’ extended campaign period will run from October 21 to October 30, covering New Hampshire, Wisconsin, and Mississippi, along with a virtual event in Florida.

These campaign efforts do little to quell the speculation about her potential run in 2028. A report from the Wall Street Journal suggests that Harris is actively preparing for another presidential bid, which involves visiting key states, engaging with donors, and recruiting staff.

Harris has connected her future plans to the upcoming midterm elections. During an event with the NAACP in Michigan last month, she emphasized that the outcome of this election cycle is crucial for her prospects in 2028.

“I have not decided if I’m going to run again,” she stated, prompting a significant standing ovation. “I do sincerely believe ‘28 won’t matter if we don’t get through ‘26.”

The former nominee has participated in several fundraising events in California and joined a Democratic National Committee initiative to mobilize volunteers across various states. She has also put together a team of advisors, including her chief of staff, and a former ambassador.

It’s not entirely unexpected for Harris to entertain the idea of another presidential run, as she hasn’t definitively shut the door on the possibility. Earlier this year, she mentioned to Rev. Al Sharpton that she was considering re-entering the race.

“Listen, I might, I might. I’m thinking about it,” she remarked, adding that she would keep her audience informed.

She acknowledged her understanding of the demands of the role, stating, “I know what the job is and what it requires.”

Interestingly, her husband, Doug Emhoff, reportedly prefers that she doesn’t pursue another presidential campaign, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Harris previously replaced President Joe Biden late in the 2024 race but ended up losing in all swing states. Donald Trump won Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, and Wisconsin, taking 312 electoral votes compared to Harris’s 226, while also defeating her in the popular vote by over 2.2 million votes.

If she chooses to run again, it would mark her third attempt at the presidency, having exited the 2020 primary race in late 2019 due to dwindling poll numbers and financial difficulties.
