Girlboss Kamala Harris went gently into that good night, and when the moment came to address her supporters at a Washington, D.C., watch party, she sent out a man to speak on her behalf.
For the entire campaign, Harris attempted to portray herself as a strong-willed, corporate girlboss with the right stuff to take on Donald Trump, the now president-elect. But in a crucial moment on Election Night, when Harris had the opportunity to seize the microphone and live up to her “I’m speaking!” credo, her campaign opted to send out Harris for President Campaign co-chairman Cedric Richmond to address supporters at their party in Howard University. “We still have votes to count. We still have states that have not been called yet. We will continue, overnight, to fight to make sure that every vote is counted, that every voice has spoken. So you won’t hear from the vice president tonight, but you will hear from her tomorrow,” Richmond said. (Stream Daily Caller’s latest documentary ‘Cleaning Up Kamala’ HERE)

I get there was a political strategy behind the campaign’s choice to have Richmond speak instead of Harris — to keep their powder dry should the night take a turn for the better. But they should have seen the writing on the wall at that point: The race was all but over. Hiding away the “I’m speaking” lady only exposed the entire feminist warrior cosplay as a sham. And I wonder how all the white liberal women living in D.C. and Brooklyn must have felt when some stiff-as-a-two-by-four campaign co-chair took the stage instead of their inspired leader, only to deliver a brutally swift message soaked through with defeat.
Also, can we get a welfare check on Kamala? Where’s our favorite girlboss? Why isn’t she bossing right now? How many bottles of Whispering Angel rosé did she down last night? Does she need some Pedialyte, or maybe something stronger, like an IV drip and some hair-of-the-dog?
