Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), former President Donald Trump’s running mate, said Vice President Kamala Harris has a globalist vision for America that includes “open borders and closing factories.”
Speaking at a rally in Henderson, Nevada on Tuesday, Vance portrayed Harris as a status quo politician who seeks to please major Democratic donors, including Wall Street billionaires and executives of multinational corporations, by encouraging a constant influx of cheap foreign labor and signing job-killing free trade agreements.
Vance said Harris would continue to work for corporate special interests as president.
“Kamala Harris’ vision for America is open borders and closed factories,” Vance said. “Growing government and shrinking family bank accounts. We can only pray for peace while war spreads.”
During her time as vice president, Harris oversaw record levels of illegal immigration into the United States, which is beneficial for big corporations because it keeps wages down by providing a constant supply of cheap foreign workers to hire.
Currently, working- and middle-class Americans compete for jobs with 30 million immigrants, including legal immigrants, visa holders, and illegal immigrants. The number of immigrants holding jobs in the United States has increased by 20 percent in 15 years, while the number of native-born Americans in the workforce has increased by less than 10 percent.
“She voted to preserve NAFTA, the trade agreement that shipped American jobs to Mexico and turned the American Dream into a nightmare,” Senator Vance continued. “I want to make the American Dream a goal for my children.”
Vance specifically said a Harris presidency would be great for the bosses of multinational corporations who are outsourcing industry to low-wage countries at the cost of further devastating working- and middle-class American towns.
Vance said:
Politicians in Washington have been selling out our country for decades. When multinational corporations call their offices, they trade American jobs for campaign contributions. Of course, they would never admit it. They would brag about trade deals and promise cheaper consumer products. They called it “globalization,” which is exactly what it was: American jobs moved elsewhere on Earth. And It will continue to happen if it’s up to Kamala Harris.

Since winning President Joe Biden’s endorsement, Harris has received endorsements from some of the most influential billionaire donors from Silicon Valley to Wall Street. Her current megadonors include George Soros and his son Alex Soros, Reid Hoffman, Blair Ephron, Jonathan Gray, Peter Orszag, Ray Maguire, Brad Karp, Roger Altman and Marc Lasry.
Hoffman, who acknowledged visiting Jeffrey Epstein’s private island, suggested his multimillion-dollar donation to Harris came with strings attached.
Hoffman said he primarily wants Harris to eliminate U.S. tariffs on foreign imports and fire Lina Khan, the chair of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), who is considered America’s biggest trust buster. The New York Times Harris indicated he might accede to Hoffman’s request to fire Khan.
