Kansas AG Kris Kobach Sues Pfizer Alleging Covid Vaccine Misinformation

Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach announced at a press conference on Monday that the state is suing pharmaceutical giant Pfizer, accusing the company of misleading the public about the vaccine’s risks related to myocarditis, pregnancy and other factors.

At a press conference on Monday, Governor Kobach said the state would be filing a civil lawsuit against Pfizer under Kansas consumer protection laws for “making false and misleading statements in advertising its COVID-19 vaccine.”

According to Kobach’s lawsuit, Pfizer issued statements in 2021 claiming the vaccine was safe while at the time possessed data that showed serious concerns about the safety of its COVID-19 vaccine.

“Contrary to its own representations, Pfizer knowingly concealed, suppressed and omitted safety and effectiveness data regarding its COVID-19 vaccine,” the complaint alleges, citing confidentiality agreements the company had the government sign.

According to the lawsuit, Kovach asked the court to fine Pfizer up to $20,000 for each violation of Kansas consumer protection laws.
