Kansas City Chiefs: Trump says White House plans to celebrate Super Bowl LIV win

President Donald Trump on Saturday invited the Kansas City chief to the White House to celebrate the team's Super Bowl LIV victory, which was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in a game they played at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida in February 2020. A month later, the world of sports was closed as Covid-19 spread around the world.

Trump made a revelation in an interview with Outkick's Clay Travis.

“I'm looking forward to having the (Philadelphia) Eagles,” he told Travis in Air Force 1 before the NCAA Wrestling Championship. “And one more thing, we will then be hosting the Chief of Kansas City.

Philadelphia did not visit the White House after a victory over the New England Patriots in February 2018. NFL players and Trump rebutted athletes kneeling at the national anthem of the time. Trump wanted Travis to come with some players, coaches, team general managers and owners, but the invitation was pulled in the midst of a stir.

This time, the Eagles appear to be ready to celebrate with the president of Washington.

White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt said earlier this month that the Eagles will be on April 28th.

“I know there was a lot of fake news about invitations that have not been sent or sent. I want to correct the record: I want to send an invitation. They are enthusiastic about accepting it and will see it here on April 28th,” she said.
