Supermodel Karlie Kloss Discusses Family Ties and Political Dialogue
On Wednesday, supermodel Karlie Kloss opened up about her connection to President Donald Trump’s family, emphasizing the importance of bipartisan conversation.
In an interview with Emily Cheung from “The Circuit,” she was asked about being married to Joshua Kushner, whose brother is married to Ivanka Trump. Kloss responded, saying, “I know who I am. I hold onto my values and the issues I care about, so I haven’t lost sight of who I am, even when it comes to my husband’s family.”
When asked about family conversations, Kloss shared, “Here we are in St. Louis, a blue dot in a red state. I’ve been exposed to diverse political views for as long as I can remember, and I believe that’s been beneficial in my life.”
She identified as a Democrat, suggesting that it’s possible to maintain relationships with those who don’t share her political beliefs. “This country has always been about dialogue. We have to be able to talk to each other,” she added.
Interestingly, when Cheung inquired if she had met Trump himself or discussed politics with him, Kloss stated she hadn’t. In a previous interview with TIME magazine from 2019, she mentioned the challenges of navigating her life with such high-profile connections but reiterated her focus on the liberal values she shares with her husband.
“It was tough,” Kloss reflected in that interview. “But I decided to focus on the shared values that have guided me throughout my life.”
