Kash Patel Takes Harsh Action Against Democratic Representative He Says Was ‘Dishonest for Political Gain’

FBI Director Kash Patel’s Exchange with Rep. Madeleine Dean

During a recent hearing, FBI Director Kash Patel seemed to accuse Pennsylvania Democrat Rep. Madeleine Dean of leveraging her questioning as a fundraising tactic. This exchange occurred while Patel testified about the FBI’s budget requests for 2026. Dean, who managed the second impeachment of former President Donald Trump, confronted Patel, asserting he was “weaponizing” the government.

She posed a pointed question: “When can I, a former impeachment manager, expect an FBI visit?” Patel responded, seemingly taken aback, “Who was the target of the weaponized FBI? Me?”

Patel, who has previously sued the Justice Department and FBI over an attempt to access his personal emails in 2023, was involved in investigating alleged FBI spying during Trump’s 2016 campaign. He has also shared insights into documents related to claims of collusion between Trump and Russia during that election.

Following the exchange, Dean displayed a copy of Patel’s book, “Gangs of the Government,” and pressed him again, suggesting that he had committed perjury. “Do we need to worry more about your memory and your truth?” she questioned.

Patel retorted, “We need to worry more about your lack of candidity. You accuse me of perjury—explain to the American people how I broke the law or committed a felony. We deal with facts, not political games.”

Patel, appointed by Trump, has a track record of criticizing the investigations into Trump’s activities. He took on the role of FBI director on November 30, replacing Christopher Wray, who had announced his resignation prior to Trump’s presidency. His confirmation by the Senate came on February 20, with a narrow 51-49 vote.
