Country Singer Sues Former FBI Agent Over Defamation Claims

Country singer Alexis Wilkins has initiated a $5 million defamation suit against Kyle Seraphine, a former FBI agent turned podcaster, accusing him of falsely labeling her as an Israeli spy. This claim involves a “honeypot” scheme intended to compromise her boyfriend, FBI Director Kash Patel.

The lawsuit, filed in Texas, follows Seraphine’s accusations to his sizable online audience that Wilkins was a “former Mossad Agent.” He suggested she was manipulating Patel while working on his operations. Wilkins, based in Tennessee, identifies as a patriotic conservative Christian.

In the suit, Wilkins contends that Seraphine fabricated this narrative to boost his video engagement and revenue, presenting her as a traitor in front of a vast number of viewers. She argues that this portrayal severely harms her reputation.

Seraphine, who previously worked in counterterrorism at the FBI, has gained a following of over 217,000 on X. On August 22, he claimed Patel was deceived by Wilkins, whom he insinuated might be involved with Israeli intelligence. He remarked on their age difference but contradicted himself by stating that their relationship was genuine and representative of true love.

Although he did not mention Wilkins by name, the lawsuit claims the implications were unmistakable. Their romance began in January 2023, and they have shared moments together publicly, including after Patel’s appointment as FBI director.

Wilkins argues that Seraphine fully knew her identity when they met two years ago at a conservative event with Patel. The complaint emphasizes that she is not Jewish, has never traveled to Israel, and has no history with any intelligence agency, labeling the notion of her being a spy as “depressing and ridiculous.”

Wilkins contends that Seraphine’s remarks, especially given his background, carry a weight that may lead audiences to view his claims as authoritative rather than exaggerated commentary. She criticizes his tendency to inject racial undertones into his discussions as well.

In his commentary, Seraphine described Patel in a racialized context, which further complicates the narrative. The legal action, filed in Austin, accuses him of malicious intent in spreading falsehoods, meeting the criteria for defamation against public figures.

According to her attorney, Wilkins was never associated with any intelligence agency, and the implications of her relationship with Patel being part of a conspiracy are both “sleazy and absurd.” Wilkins emphasizes that Seraphine’s remarks have unjustly tarnished her career and reputation as a performer.

Seraphine, who left the FBI under controversial circumstances, has yet to publicly respond to the lawsuit or the allegations made against him.
