WNBA rookie Kate Martin was the recipient of some good-natured bullying from her Las Vegas Aces teammates.
On Tuesday, two-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson posted a video to her Instagram Story of Martin chasing the team bus as it drove away.
Martin was all smiles as he ran for his life, while other Aces players laughed in the background watching Wilson’s video.
“Don’t miss the bus,” Wilson captioned the video, adding a laughing emoji.
This is the second time Ace and his friends have played a prank on Martin on the bus.
Last month, she was gifted a pink Hello Kitty backpack and encouraged by her teammates to give a speech in celebration.
“It’s an incredible honor to walk around with this,” Martin said with a straight face.
“I’m really thankful for this opportunity. I want to thank not only God but also Jesus. Thank you.”
Martin, who starred alongside Caitlin Clark at the University of Iowa, was a relative latecomer in the WNBA Draft compared to players like Clark, Cameron Brink, Camila Cardozo and Angel Reese.
Martin was ultimately selected by the Aces with the sixth pick in the second round.
Still, she played in five games off the bench, averaging 21 minutes per game and helping the team win two consecutive championships.
The Aces are off to a 4-2 start this season and will face the Wings in Dallas on Wednesday.
