The Welsh couple did not attend the Paris Olympics, but their absence was not a surprise as it was revealed she would be stepping away from public life for a while to focus on her cancer treatment.

Following the shocking cancer diagnosis, the princess wrote in a letter that she was “recovering well” but had “good days and bad days” while undergoing chemotherapy.

The following day, Middleton joined the royal family to celebrate King Charles’ birthday with a military flag procession on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
