Prince William and Duchess Catherine made a striking appearance at the 2026 British Academy Awards, marking their first joint attendance since the recent arrest of former Prince Andrew.
On Sunday, the couple presented a brave front while walking the red carpet, radiating confidence for the cameras.
The 43-year-old Prince of Wales looked quite sharp in his black tie, sharing smiles with the photographer. His wife, aged 44, dazzled in a floor-length pink dress.
Middleton accessorized with dangling earrings and held a small clutch, her hair styled in loose curls.
During their walk to the Royal Festival Hall, both William and Middleton engaged with reporters, sharing a few words.
This event was the first for the couple since Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was detained. However, the Princess of Wales attended a Six Nations match in London between England and Ireland the day before, sitting beside the injured player Finn Baxter and appearing quite cheerful.
In a photo from that match, she sported an England scarf over a blue suit, with her hair also styled in loose curls.
Mountbatten-Windsor was released from custody on Thursday, coincidentally her 66th birthday, after being arrested for her connection with Jeffrey Epstein.
He was taken into custody over allegations of misconduct in office after reportedly sharing sensitive trade documents with Epstein while serving as Britain’s trade envoy.
This arrest followed a complaint made nearly a month prior regarding his conduct. An anti-monarchy activist had directed the attention of the Thames Valley Police to the situation.
If found guilty, the former prince could face severe penalties, including a lengthy prison sentence.
Following his release, he was spotted trying to avoid cameras from the backseat of a car, clearly distressed.
King Charles, reportedly unaware of his brother’s situation until after the fact, expressed “deep concern” over the allegations in a statement issued by Buckingham Palace.
“I am deeply concerned to learn of the news regarding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and the allegations of misconduct in public office,” he stated.
“There will now be a full, fair and appropriate process for investigating this matter,” he continued, emphasizing his family’s commitment to duty during this challenging time.
