Kate Middleton makes first major appearance since finishing chemotherapy

Duchess Kate made her first major public appearance since announcing she had completed preventive chemotherapy for cancer.

On Saturday, the 42-year-old Princess of Wales attended a Royal League memorial event with other senior members of the royal family, including her husband Prince William and her father-in-law, King Charles III, who is currently undergoing treatment for cancer.

According to the BBC, Charles received a standing ovation from the audience when he arrived at the venue.

The event, held at London's Royal Albert Hall, is part of the UK's annual Remembrance Weekend, which celebrates members of the British and Commonwealth Armed Forces and honors fallen soldiers.

Ms Middleton was pictured standing and applauding with her family as they watched the commemorative concert from the Royal Box.

The princess wore a long-sleeved black dress with bright red poppy pins for the occasion. This flower traditionally symbolizes the memory and hope of those lost in war.

Middleton paid tribute to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, through her jewelry. She wore Collingwood pearl drop earrings and a sapphire and diamond engagement ring that once belonged to Princess Diana. Kate also accessorized with a pearl drop necklace.

Prince Charles' wife Queen Camilla did not attend the event. Earlier on Saturday, Buckingham Palace announced that Camilla would be absent from Remembrance Weekend events as she is recovering from a chest infection.

According to People magazine, “Her Majesty the Queen will not attend this weekend's memorial service as she has fully recovered from a seasonal chest infection and in line with medical advice to protect others from any potential risks.” ” is included in the statement.

Middleton and Prince Charles will also attend a Remembrance Sunday ceremony at the Cenotaph in Whitehall, London, where the monarch will lay a wreath, according to the BBC.

Buckingham Palace announced in February that Prince Charles, 75, had been diagnosed with a type of cancer and was undergoing treatment. The king returned to official duties at the end of April after taking a three-month leave to manage his health.

In March, Middleton revealed her cancer diagnosis and said she was undergoing preventive chemotherapy. It was her first public appearance since revealing she had been diagnosed with cancer while attending the Trooping of the Color ceremony in June.

In a heartfelt video shared in September, Duchess Kate revealed that she is cancer-free following treatment and expressed her hope for the future.

“Although chemotherapy has finished, the road to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to make the most of each day,” the Princess said. “However, I am looking forward to getting back to work and taking on some more public engagements in the coming months if possible.
