Katherine Heigl Lists Utah Home for Sale
Katherine Heigl is ready to part ways with her home in Utah. The actress, known for her role in “27 Dresses,” has teamed up with Paul Benson from Engel & Völkers Park City to list the property for $10.6 million.
Heigl purchased the house for $1 million back in 2007, the same year she married musician Josh Kelley. They built a new home in 2008 and moved from Los Angeles to Utah full-time in 2012. Now, the family is looking to downsize.
“It was a tough choice to let go,” Heigl shared. “I’m really a homebody and enjoy my routines.” Yet, she added, “After the kids grow up and have their own lives, it’s just going to be the two of us in this big house on all this land.”
Heigl and Kelley have three children: Nalley, 17, Adalide, 14, and Joshua, 9. Their expansive 8,352-square-foot home features six bedrooms and seven bathrooms, including two main suites. A great room with high ceilings and a striking 30-foot steel fireplace adds to the home’s charm.
The property includes a separate space that Heigl has used as an art studio, which could also serve as a guest suite, gym, or office. There’s a heated pool and beautifully landscaped lawns as well.
Reflecting on their decision, Heigl commented, “We built a house in Utah, thinking it would be a vacation spot. But we ended up spending more time there. My husband even changed his driver’s license to reflect that this was our primary residence. And we both realized, yes, we live here now.”
Heigl began her acting career as a teenager, gaining recognition in films like “My Father the Hero” and “Under Siege 2: Dark Territory” before scoring a breakout role in “Roswell.” Her most prominent role came in 2005 when she was cast as Izzie Stevens on “Grey’s Anatomy,” earning her an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
The house also includes a large primary bedroom complete with a fireplace and a separate living area. A stunning outdoor terrace offers a cozy living area with views of the mountains.
After winning an Emmy, Heigl made headlines by withdrawing her name for re-nomination the following year, explaining that she didn’t think the show’s season warranted it. This statement, along with her comments about working long hours and wanting to focus on family, contributed to her being labeled “difficult,” resulting in her exit from the show.
Despite not appearing onscreen with the “Grey’s Anatomy” cast in recent years, Heigl participated in a mini-reunion with some original cast members during the 2024 Emmy Awards.
Since leaving “Grey’s Anatomy,” Heigl has featured in movies such as “One for the Money” and “Unforgettable,” along with various television shows like “State of Affairs,” “Suits,” and “Firefly Lane.”
