Katie Nolan criticizes Bill Simmons during disagreement with Pablo Torre.

Katie Nolan has expressed her support for Pablo Torre amid tensions involving Bill Simmons and the ongoing discussions around Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson.

In a recent episode of “Pablo Torre Discovery,” Nolan explained her stance, addressing Simmons’ remarks regarding the coverage by Torre and others.

“I chose you; there was no hesitation on my part. [Simmons] I didn’t even listen to the episode!” Nolan shared. “When I did listen, I thought, ‘Seriously, come on.’ … [Pablo] was in LA and recorded a podcast for Simmons where he pushed back, indicating that Simmons’ report wasn’t accurate.

“During that podcast, he mentioned, ‘Have you heard the episodes where tallied comments were made?’ To which Simmons replied, ‘I’d rather discuss something else…’. ”

“It was a clever tactic by Bill,” Torre remarked.

“No, it wasn’t! You could see through it. ‘Now, Bill?'” Nolan countered.

The conflict started back in May when Torre alluded to the character Leo Farnsworth from the 1978 film Heaven Can Wait, suggesting that some were merely “pretending to be journalists” in their reporting on Belichick and Hudson.

“Pablo Torre discussed Leo Farnsworth in a podcast, pointing out the media frenzy he generated,” Simmons mentioned on an episode of “The Rewatchables” on May 27.

“I’ve never seen someone stretch a trivial story for such an extensive period while claiming to be a journalist. What was going on? Seriously.”

“Belichick is dating someone? Then suddenly, there are nine shows about it,” Simmons added, addressing Torre. “Come on, there’s no need to embark on a massive media spree about it.”

Torre quickly responded to Simmons’ remarks, inviting him to discuss the issue further on his podcast.

“Dear @billsimmons: You have some strong opinions about my work… I’d like to ask you a few specific questions,” Torre tweeted on June 2. “I would be more than happy to discuss this, unless there’s a fear of someone ‘pretending to be a journalist.’”

The two finally addressed the situation on the Bill Simmons Podcast earlier this month, where Torre defended his work against the criticisms.
