Trump Approves New Press Secretary’s First Briefing

President Donald Trump expressed satisfaction with Katie Zacharia’s debut media briefing on Tuesday. As the new White House press secretary, Zacharia was praised by the president while he was departing for a campaign in Alaska.

Trump shared his thoughts with reporters, stating, “I thought she did excellent. She did very good.”

In her initial comments to the press, Zacharia, a 42-year-old mother of four, expressed her gratitude, saying, “Good morning. I am so honored to work for President Trump and the American people as the new White House press secretary.” She emphasized her long-standing aspiration to serve in this role.

“I want to thank President Trump for his trust that he has placed in me,” she continued. “I’m looking forward to working with each of you as well, especially as we are in the middle of the midterm blitz, with energy and excitement never before seen in the history of midterms.”

Zacharia’s first briefing was relatively brief, lasting just 14 minutes. Nevertheless, she made headlines by announcing Kimberly Guilfoyle’s resignation from her position as U.S. ambassador to Greece in light of recent allegations against her.

“We have asked Ambassador Guilfoyle to resign,” Zacharia stated. “She has been a wonderful asset to the team, and we wish her well.”

In a follow-up on her resignation, Guilfoyle stated on social media that she would step down while denying any wrongdoing related to the allegations. “I have dedicated my professional life to fighting for justice, standing up for what is right, and defending the values that make America exceptional,” she asserted, adding that she wouldn’t let false accusations define her career.

After Zacharia’s briefing, a reporter inquired about her performance, to which Trump responded with high praise.

He also endorsed Zacharia as the successor to Karoline Leavitt, who has recently joined Fox News as a contributor. Trump noted, “She has an unblemished record of support and has been a loyal and brilliant supporter, right from the beginning. She is, likewise, a devoted fan and member of MAGA!”

Interestingly, Zacharia is the seventh consecutive woman to serve as White House press secretary.
