Katie Zacharia Takes Over as White House Press Secretary

Katie Zacharia has officially started her role as the White House press secretary, with her first news conference set for Tuesday morning, as announced by President Donald Trump.

Trump noted that Zacharia would begin her duties on Monday, which is Columbus Day, following the departure of Karoline Leavitt from the position at the end of August.

“I am pleased to announce that Katie Zacharia will be beginning her term as Press Secretary tomorrow, Columbus Day, and will be doing an introductory News Conference on Tuesday at 9:30 A.M. from the Press Briefing Room in the White House,” he shared on Truth Social. “Katie has been with me, in spirit, from the very beginning, and will do a fantastic job!”

As Zacharia steps into her new position, Trump also expressed gratitude toward Leavitt, noting that her decision to resign was made to prioritize her family and care for her two young children.

“I just want to pay my respect and thanks to Karoline Leavitt for the fantastic job she has done as White House Press Secretary – Could not have been better!” the president remarked.

Zacharia is well-known in conservative media circles and had a brief tenure as a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security under former Secretary Kristi Noem before leaving her role earlier this year.

After being appointed as press secretary, she also previously served as a senior communications adviser for Trump Media & Technology Group, the parent company behind Trump’s social network, Truth Social.
