Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau’s Double Date in Tokyo
Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau recently elevated their relationship status with a prominent double date in Tokyo.
The pair was spotted alongside former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife Yuko, as seen in an official photo shared on Thursday.
Perry, 41, donned a brown miniskirt, a cropped jacket, and heeled boots. In contrast, Kishida, 53, opted for a gray suit, complete with a tie and black shoes.
Kishida’s post on social media highlighted that he had lunch with Trudeau and his partner, although he didn’t mention the pop star by name.
“During my time as Prime Minister, I met leaders from both countries. On my visit to Canada, we worked on strengthening our bilateral ties, including establishing the Japan-Canada Action Plan. It’s nice that we can continue our friendly relationship this way,” Kishida shared.
Social media users had plenty to say about Perry’s appearance in the photo, with one commenter humorously asking, “Is he receiving her love or hearing the roar of a lion?” Another remarked, “That’s Katy Perry, global pop icon.” Someone else teased, “It’s Katie and her partner,” while another speculated, “Could she be the future Mrs. Trudeau?”
Earlier this week, the couple enjoyed a casual outing in Asakusa, a popular tourist area in Tokyo.
Perry, currently touring with her Life Times Tour, had performed two shows at the Saitama Super Arena earlier this week.
Trudeau’s relationship with the “Teenage Dream” singer first generated buzz over the summer when they were seen having a quiet dinner in Montreal.
He was also spotted taking a stroll in Mount Royal Park before attending one of her sold-out concerts in Canada. In October, an intimate photo of the two on Perry’s yacht surfaced, strongly suggesting they’re quite serious about each other.
Perry has a daughter, Daisy Dove, with Orlando Bloom, but they split in June. Trudeau, who has three children with his estranged wife, Sophie Grégoire, recently confirmed their separation after 18 years of marriage.
Meanwhile, a source informed People magazine last month that Perry was “planning a vacation” with Trudeau and was eager for the tour to wrap up.
