Katy Perry Faces Feminist Backlash for Working with MeToo’d Producer Dr. Luke on Latest Song

Pop star Katy Perry is facing a feminist backlash after reports that her new song, “Woman’s World,” a supposed celebration of women’s rights, was linked to a music producer called Dr. Luke, who Kesha has accused of drugging and raping her.

Katy Perry is set to release “Woman’s World” on July 11, but posted a short sample of the song on social media last week, which includes the lyrics, “It’s a woman’s world. You’re lucky to live in it.”

Now Perry is facing feminist backlash from disgruntled fans after it was revealed that her new song was co-produced with Dr. Luke.

In 2014, pop star Kesha accused Dr. Luke of drugging and raping her nine years ago. Kesha also claimed that during their working relationship, he had been emotionally abusive, insulting her voice and appearance.

Dr Luke denied the allegations, accusing Kesha of making defamatory statements, and a lengthy legal battle ensued before finally reaching a settlement last year.

Earlier this month, Rolling Stone magazine broken News that Katy Perry will be teaming up with Dr. Luke and a number of other producers for her next album, “Woman’s World.”

Additionally, Kesha appeared to criticize Perry’s new song in a post by X last week.

As a result, fans began accusing Perry of hypocritical feminism.
