Katy Perry pulled out all the stops for her spectacular return to the VMAs on Wednesday, hitting the event's 2024 red carpet in a two-piece outfit straight off the runway from “Who Decides War.” Ahead of a big night for the star.
The 39-year-old “Woman's World” singer, who will receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at Wednesday's ceremony, strutted down the carpet at UBS Arena in Belmont Park, New York, looking wet and wild in a white one-shoulder crop top and low-waisted skirt.
Perry lets her outfit do most of the talking, accessorizing only with metal bracelets and wearing her hair down in a wet grunge style.
At one point, the Grammy winner turned around to reveal a QR code tattoo on her lower back that, when clicked, prompts fans to pre-save her upcoming album, “143.”
The “Teenage Dream” singer's fiancé, Orlando Bloom, was also present with her in several photos.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star, dressed in an all-black suit, held hands with Perry, and the pair shared a sweet kiss before he walked away.
The “Last Friday Night” singer hasn't attended MTV's annual awards ceremony since 2017, when he hosted the event, but he's set to make a grand return at the 2024 edition.
According to the station, Perry will take to the stage at Wednesday's show to perform “a medley of her greatest hits from across her career.”
The five-time VMA-winning pop star also has some new music on the way, with “143” due for release on September 20th.
Of course, the “Teenage Dream” singer has sported plenty of wild fashion moments at the VMAs over the years, including a record-themed sequined dress at the 2011 event, a Britney Spears-inspired denim gown in 2014, and a metallic space suit at the 2017 ceremony.
Be sure to tune in to see Perry's next outfit change at the 2024 VMAs when the show airs on MTV at 8 PM ET.
