Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom didn't hold back on their public display of affection at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards on Wednesday, where the pair accepted the Video Vanguard Award.
The “Last Friday Night” singer performed a medley of his biggest hits, including “Dark Horse” and “I Kissed a Girl,” before sliding down a moon-shaped platform onstage to accept the coveted award from his fiancée of five years.
Perry, 39, quickly ran over to Bloom, 47, threw her arms around him and shared a kiss for several seconds in front of a cheering crowd at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York.
The couple eventually let go and smiled at each other before the “Lord of the Rings” star held up the gold trophy and asked fans to “give us a trophy for our latest Video Vanguard!”
Earlier, Bloom introduced Perry's career-spanning performance, which also included “E.T.”, “California Gurls,” “Teenage Dream” and “Firework.”
“We fell in love with her as Katy Perry. I fell in love with her as Katheryn Hudson,” he began, using her real name.
“She is known as a global superstar who brings love, light and her unique sense of humor to every song she writes and every music video she makes. I know her as a mother and partner who brings that same love and joy to our family.”
The couple began dating in January 2016 and got engaged in February 2019. They welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove, into the world in August 2020.
Perry and Bloom's public lewd behavior comes a week after she made headlines by speaking candidly about the couple's sex life.
The former “American Idol” judge admitted on the Sept. 4 “Call Her Daddy” podcast that the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star performs oral sex on him while he does household chores.
“If I come downstairs and the kitchen is spotless and you've put everything away, washed all the dishes and closed all the pantry doors, then you'd better be prepared to get your dick sucked,” she said, laughing.
