Bryce Harper last participated in the MLB Home Run Derby back in 2018, where he showcased his skills in front of a raucous Washington Nationals crowd.
He managed to defeat Kyle Schwarber in a thrilling final round, clinching what remains his only Home Run Derby title to date.
Fast forward to eight years later, and Harper is set to compete once more against Schwarber, but this time they’re teammates, ready to entertain the home crowd at the 2026 Home Run Derby in Philadelphia on July 13.
The last time Harper triumphed in the Derby coincided with him marrying his wife, Kayla, in December 2016. Wow, it’s hard to believe it’s been under two years since then, right?
Now, they’re a happy couple with four children, including their son Hayes, born in December 2025. One can only imagine how exciting it’ll be for Harper’s kids to witness their dad’s power hitting at Citizens Bank Park.
Kayla will be in attendance, as she shared an Instagram post showcasing her outfit for the event. Talking about it, the makeup artist captured her in a smiling black shirt and some striking makeup. The caption also mentioned MLB’s wives, including Sharidan, the wife of San Francisco Giants pitcher Logan Webb.
I think it’ll be pretty interesting to see if Harper can replicate that legendary performance from 2018 during the upcoming Home Run Derby.
