McEnany Challenges Goldberg’s Comments on Iran
Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany reacted strongly on Thursday to remarks made by “The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg regarding Iran and the actions of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Goldberg referenced comments made by Alyssa Farah Griffin, claiming that black individuals in the U.S. are treated similarly to how women and LGBTQ+ people are treated in Iran, where human rights abuses are rampant.
During the “Outnumbered” segment, McEnany, who previously served as the White House press secretary under Trump, highlighted the case of Mahsa Amini, a significant victim of the Iranian regime. “It’s time to educate Whoopi Goldberg about Mahsa Amini,” she stated. “At 22 years old, she was detained for not wearing a hijab and died while in custody due to severe mistreatment by authorities.”
Amini’s death while she was in custody for violating hijab regulations led to widespread protests and prompted human rights investigations from organizations like the United Nations.
Commenting further, Kennedy, a former MTV host, contrasted Goldberg’s experiences in the U.S. to the deadly consequences faced by women protesting in Iran. “What she experiences as a successful black woman in America is vastly different from the brutal laws that govern women in Iran,” he explained, underscoring the life-threatening risks faced by those opposing authoritarianism overseas.
“In fact, the Iranian government reportedly killed around 500 people and detained 200,000 through violent crackdowns,” remarked Harris Faulkner, highlighting the severity of the situation. “It’s alarming to think about how they use firearms to deliberately target protesters.”
In an exclusive interview, Faulkner, who once appeared alongside Goldberg in “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” called out the actress for her comments. “It’s 2025. I’m not suggesting that past injustices didn’t occur, but on such a pivotal date, my hopes for Whoopi were higher,” she expressed. “While I enjoyed her role in sci-fi, the things she says today are troubling. Many viewers might find themselves turning away from her show due to her remarks.”
Faulkner finished by emphasizing the importance of understanding the broader context of such discussions. “Without that context, there’s little hope for progress. Her comments come off as deeply misguided.”
