Kayshon Boutte welcomes a new chapter in New England football

The New England Patriots Are Back

The New England Patriots are starting to regain their former glory. After a brief flicker of potential in the post-Tom Brady era, when rookie Mac Jones led the team to the playoffs, things took a downturn in Foxborough. However, the arrival of Drake Maye and Mike Vrabel appears to be a turning point.

Kayshon Boot, now in his third season with the Patriots, has experienced a whirlwind of changes—he’s worked under as many head coaches as seasons he’s played. With six different offensive coordinators since college, the recent coaching change felt like a natural transition for him.

He seems to have finally found some stability. “Last year wasn’t what we wanted, but we came in believing in what our head coach said and how he envisioned things moving forward,” Boot remarked in a recent discussion. “He’s really a player’s coach since he once played the game. He genuinely wants the best for us. I trust him completely, and I think the entire team feels the same way. That’s why we are where we are today.”

Regarding Maye, Boot noticed significant growth from him as a second-year quarterback. “We had some success last year, but this season is different. He’s more mobile, locating open receivers, reading defenses better, and trusting his teammates. That confidence is crucial for any quarterback. Each successful play boosts his confidence and our connection as an offense. We’re definitely moving in the right direction,” he added.

Boot’s improved performance on the field has helped raise his profile. Interestingly, yes, his last name does prompt all sorts of jokes. “I’ve been hearing that for as long as I can remember,” he shared with a chuckle.

He recently entered a partnership with Charmin, promoting their “Forever Roll,” a product designed to last a month. “It’s a unique idea,” he said. “Charmin loves booty. It’s just fun to joke about. These endless rolls are fantastic—I’ve never had a roll that lasts so long, it’s incredible!”

As the Patriots move into a new phase of football, Boot acknowledges the need to keep pushing forward. Reflecting on the past, he prefers to stay focused on the present. With the team currently sitting at 8-2, they not only look likely for the playoffs but are also aiming for a first-round bye. They’ll have a chance to extend their success this Thursday against the New York Jets.

“We’ve had a great season, but it’s on us to maintain that momentum,” Boot said. “Consistency is key, especially as we head into November and December. We’re committed to improving so we can compete in January.”
