Kazakhstan to join the Abraham Accords

Kazakhstan has confirmed its intention to join the Abraham Accords, officials announced recently. These Accords, which were initially signed in 2020, include the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Morocco as countries that have normalized relations with Israel.

Sudan signed an earlier declaration in January 2021 but has struggled to formalize diplomatic ties with Israel due to political challenges within the country.

U.S. special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, revealed during a talk at the American Business Forum in Miami that he would return to Washington, D.C., later to announce the inclusion of another country in the Accords.

“This indicates that the Abraham Accords are becoming a sought-after partnership, which could help shift the climate in the region towards more peace following the Gaza conflict,” officials mentioned.

Furthermore, reports suggest that Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev may officially announce this development during an upcoming meeting with President Trump.

Trump has also hinted that additional nations, particularly Syria and Saudi Arabia, might soon be part of these Accords. Meetings are scheduled with Syria’s interim president, Ahmed al-Shara, next week, and with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia later in November.
